Beating the MLM summer blues

Summer is usually one of the slower periods of the year and many network marketers almost go into hibernation, but it really doesn’t have to be that way. I believe summer can be one of the best times of the year if you decide to make it.

There are a lot of things you can do to build your business in the summer that you wouldn’t be able to do the rest of the year.

Here are some of the reasons why the summer could be one of your best seasons.

> People are often more relaxed and easier to get to talk to.

> Many business owners have a bit more time to really talk.

> People have enough time to actually think about themselves and their life and think
about what they really want.

> You will be able to reach some people that are simply too busy the rest of the year.

> People travel more in the summer so you get an opportunity to meet brand new people.

Here are a few ideas of how you can maximize the summer:

>> Have a summer sale.

>> Have a special summer incentive for the team.

>> Get together with your team members and have a barbecue. This is one of the greatest ways to build team spirit. I still treasure the memory of the barbecues in southern Denmark with my team till long into the night. None of us really wanted to go home but unfortunately most of them had to leave to get up to their JOB.

>> Have a competition between team members to come up with great ways to build the business in the summer period. (You will be surprised about how brilliant your team members are)

>> If there is a tourist attraction in your area there are several interesting things you can do.

For example: Offer to take free pictures of the tourists that didn’t bring a camera and send them via email. This will allow you to send a small two line ad in the bottom of the email. You could pass out flyers at the place of the attraction. When people ask you why you are doing it for free, tell them you are creating awareness about X…. ( fill in the blank)
Don’t under-estimate the power of reciprocation – when you do something unexpected and free for strangers they will trust you and want to reciprocate.

These are just a few ideas to get you started. I highly recommend you do a brainstorm with your team-members and uplines. Don’t let other peoples opinion or mood affect you. If you decide to make it the best time of the year it will be so.
